Rave of the moment, Oluwabamike Adebuniyan, popularly known as BamBam, is grateful, elated, and truly blessed following her role in the success of the YouTube blockbuster, ‘Love in Every World’. For weeks now the feel good movie has dominated blogosphere, remaining the most talked about Nollywood title.

To Bambam, who plays Chioma (Achalugo) alongside Uzor Arukwe as Obiora (Odogwu), ‘Love In Every Word’ isn’t just another film, it’s a reminder of what she’s always known to be, a star! This time, it’s not just about being in front of the camera; but considerably owning her place in Nollywood.

The reality TV star disclosed in a chat that she’s trusting and believing the success and overwhelming reception given to the romantic drama marks a turning point in her career as an actress. “Absolutely, I am trusting God that this will be a turning point for me as an actress,” BamBam enthused.

Beyond her YouTube sensation, the mother of two shone like the star she is in ‘Collision Course’ and ‘House of Ga’a’ on Netflix, among other projects getting due credits. Her goal is to keep creating great work so that the she gets the right people recognise her talent and find her valuable enough to collaborate with.

BamBam shares her acting journey and how she got on the Omoni Oboli’s production. According to her, after all the work and struggle of moving to Lagos from Abuja, she wanted her talent to be recognized, to be paid what she deserved and to soar, delivering quality entertainment and performances.

Passionate about film, acting, she narrates her journey thus. “I remember people saying they didn’t enjoy Nollywood movies because the acting felt flat, the storytelling was dull, and only comedy was trending. But I knew it was possible to be a phenomenal actor, to truly kill it. So, I chose to do things differently, and God breathed on it.

“I found purpose in acting, and now, seeing the world celebrate my work, my talent, and the skills I’ve honed over the years is truly fulfilling. I’m grateful to God for this recognition. I’ll never forget the day I slid into Omoni Oboli’s DMs and said, “Hi, Mama. I love your work.

“I admire what you do, and I look forward to working with you soon.” Moments later, she replied: ‘Hi, BamBam. I actually saw you in Collision Course. You know what? Send me your number, my team will reach out.’ And that was the start of my journey with her.”

She speaks fondly of the actress / filmmaker whom she looks up to, her admiration and describes working with her as nothing short of amazing and a dream come true. She remembers watching ‘Colombiana,’ and thinking, “I love this woman. I definitely want to act. I’ve always been passionate about film, so I started auditioning in Abuja.

“I went for a few movie auditions but didn’t make it. I also auditioned to be a TV presenter, (and) then did voice-over acting for a BBC drama in Abuja for about two years. Eventually, I thought, maybe I should go to film school, maybe then people will take me seriously. So, I resigned from my job, moved to Lagos, and applied to the Royal Arts Academy.

“I was one of the best students in my batch… After graduating, the Big Brother audition came up, and a few of us went for it. God was merciful, and I got selected. I went to Big Brother because I wanted to be seen by the right people, people who would recognise and appreciate my talent as an actor and pay me what I was worth.”

Having featured in a number of films on YouTube, cinema, streaming platforms, BamBam’s first consideration in any project is always the story, not the platform. She sees every role an opportunity to give her all and fully embody the character. For her, “acting isn’t just a career; it’s what I live for”.

A theatre-trained actor, unknown to many is that she can sing, dance, and act, which she considers a triple threat. Does her current status marks a new direction for her? Not really, as she is on the right path doing her thing, and have shared stage within and outside Nigeria alongside industry veterans.

“I’d say no. Before working with YouTube movies, I performed in stage plays with BAP Productions in Lagos and South Africa, as well as with The Doyenne Circle in Abuja, alongside Aunty Joke Silva, Chi Girl, and Kate Henshaw,” she said.

What matters most to her at this time is having opportunities to do what she loves, no matter the platform. “Whether audiences are watching me on YouTube, Netflix, Prime Video, or in the cinema, I want them to see me at my very best.”

Every year, World Music Day serves as a reminder of the powerful role music plays in
shaping culture, identity, and human connection. In Nigeria, especially, music has
become more than entertainment. It is how young people express themselves, tell
their stories, build communities, and increasingly, create opportunities for global

From Afrobeats becoming an international force to local sounds influencing pop

concerts and live music experiences to youth-focused creative initiatives like; Trace

Imo State Delegate Unveils SafeTell NG, Nigeria’s First Anonymous Reporting App for Survivors of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence

For many contestants, the Miss World Nigeria stage represents the pursuit of a crown. But for Unegbu Adaobi Sandra, who represented Imo State at the 2026 edition of the pageant, it became an opportunity to champion something far more powerful — a mission to tackle sexual and gender-based violence in Nigeria, and a digital platform to prove she meant it.

During her participation in the national pageant, Adaobi Sandra officially launched SafeTell NG, a groundbreaking mobile application designed to give Nigerian survivors of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) a safe, anonymous, and accessible space to report incidents, seek support, and access legal and medical resources.

The initiative, unveiled under the pageant’s globally recognized Beauty With a Purpose philosophy, seeks to leverage technology, advocacy, education, and partnerships to build safer communities and provide support for vulnerable populations

In Adaobi Sandra’s words, “I did not come to this pageant just to compete,” She told correspondents on the sidelines of the grand finale. “I came because millions of Nigerian women and girls are suffering in silence, and I refused to stand on a national stage without using that platform to say — your story matters, and you do not have to face this alone.”

A Crisis That Demands Action
The statistics that drove Adaobi Sandra to create SafeTell NG are as sobering as they are urgent.

According to available data, one in three Nigerian women has experienced some form of violence, yet fewer than five percent of survivors ever receive any support.

Reports indicate that during the COVID-19 lockdown alone, SGBV cases rose by a staggering 149 percent across 23 Nigerian states — yet no national digital reporting platform existed to meet the surge in need.

SafeTell NG, Adaobi Sandra says, was built precisely for that gap. The platform allows survivors to report incidents anonymously, connect with trained counselors via in-app chat, locate nearby Sexual Assault Referral Centres (SARCs) and shelters, access legal guidance under Nigeria’s Violence Against Persons Prohibition (VAPP) Act, and trigger an SOS alert to trusted contacts in emergencies.

Critically, the app also features a USSD and offline mode — ensuring that survivors in rural communities with limited internet access are not left behind.

“A woman in a village in Imo State deserves the same access to help as anyone else. SafeTell NG was built with her in mind,” she stated.

“Technology should serve everyone — not just those in Lagos or Abuja,” she added.

From Imo State to the National Stage
A native of Imo State, Unegbu Adaobi Sandra has long been passionate about the intersection of technology, health, and human rights.

She is also the founder of the Adaobi Sandra Foundation, a nonprofit organization focused on health, education, and the empowerment of vulnerable people across Nigeria.

SafeTell NG is one of the projects under that vision — using innovation to fill the gaps that government and traditional systems have left wide open.

Her decision to use the Miss World Nigeria platform to launch the app was deliberate. “Pageants reach people that policy papers do not,” she explained.

“When you have a national audience watching, you have a responsibility to say something that matters. I chose to talk about SGBV because it is not a whisper issue — it is a national emergency that deserves a national conversation.”

Building a Safer Nigeria
SafeTell NG is currently in development, with Adaobi Sandra actively pursuing partnerships with key organizations including the Mirabel Centre, WARIF (Women at Risk International Foundation), Stand to End Rape (STER), and the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs.

The platform is also seeking grant support from international bodies including UN Women Nigeria, the Ford Foundation, and USAID.

For Adaobi Sandra, the pageant was never the destination, it was the megaphone.

“Crowns are symbolic, but purpose is enduring. Miss World Nigeria gave me a stage,” she said.
