I feel like a newly born child at 50—Rotary chieftain, Erelu Ajibike. 

A former president of Rotary Club of Isolo, District 9111, Lagos, Ololade Ajibike, the Erelu Okin of Oke Ayedun Ekiti, has said that she feels like a newly born child at 50.

The revered traditional chief, who was celebrated by loved ones, friends, and associates at an elaborate and colourful ceremony on Saturday, February 22, 2025, to mark the milestone, stated that she has been a beneficiary of God’s grace, mercy, and favour throughout her life’s journey.

According to her, despite the difficult experiences she had encountered at various points in her sojourn, God had given her the opportunity to reach the golden age, making her feel like an infant offered a fresh start in life.

Expressing gratitude to all those who had been part of her remarkable journey in various ways, Erelu Ajibike said, “My life is a mirror of how much God can bless a person. There is indeed no word to describe the volume of His mercy and grace that He has allowed me to enjoy during these past 50 years.

“Rather than feeling 50, I feel like a newly born child given a fresh opportunity to live life. There is no better way to express my gratitude to God than this.

“He has blessed me with amazing people at every point of my journey that has contributed to making my life beautiful. It has not all been rosy but God surrounded me with people that have constantly looked out for me as much as I would for them.

Apart from respected traditional leaders, religious heads, business executives, and public office holders, other prominent Nigerians, among them celebrated entertainers, also graced the well-attended birthday ceremony—the climax of a series of events, including a church thanksgiving service, cocktail and nights of tributes put together to honour Erelu Ajibike.
