EID-UL-MUBARAK 2026: IJU-ISHAGA CENTRAL MOSQUE OFFERS PRAYERS FOR NIGERIA, MUSLIMS WORLDWIDE.
The 2026 Eid-ul-Fitr celebration was marked with deep spiritual reflection, gratitude, and fervent prayers across Nigeria, as Muslims commemorated the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan.
At the Iju-Ishaga Central Mosque in Lagos, the Chief Imam, Alhaji Abdul Waheed Thanni, led congregants in special Eid prayers, emphasizing unity, peace, and national development. The prayer session was attended by prominent members of the mosque, including Sheikh Kasali Akintunde (Chairman),alongside other committee members and a large gathering of faithful.
In his sermon, the Chief Imam called on Muslims to uphold the values of compassion, tolerance, and righteousness cultivated during Ramadan. They also pray for lasting peace, protection of lives, and restoration of normalcy in affected areas.
Speaking on behalf of the mosque committee, Ustaz Sulaiman Anthonio Mosque Financial Secretary reiterated the importance of solidarity among Muslims and encouraged acts of charity and kindness beyond the Ramadan period. He highlighted the need for continued support for the less privileged as a way of strengthening communal bonds.
The mosque leadership further called on government authorities, community leaders, and citizens to work collaboratively towards building a more peaceful, secure, and prosperous nation.
