Sanwo-Olu Commissions New Housing Projects in Surulere, Promises More Affordable Homes for Lagosians.✓✓✓Newzspy.
In a bold step toward addressing the housing deficit in Lagos State, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu today commissioned two landmark housing projects: the LBIC/Megamound Greater Lagos Apartments located at Obele-Oniwala and the LBIC/Crown Exquisite Homes situated at Olaleye New-Town, Iponri, both in the Surulere area of Lagos.
The newly unveiled residential developments are the result of strategic collaborations between the Lagos Building Investment Company (LBIC) and its private sector partners — Megamound Investment Limited and Crown Exquisite Homes & Property Limited. These partnerships underline the Sanwo-Olu administration’s commitment to public-private collaboration as a sustainable model for infrastructural development in the state.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized the importance of unity and focus in achieving shared goals, particularly in delivering projects that improve lives and promote social inclusion. “These developments speak to what’s possible when we stay focused and work together,” he said. “Through collaboration with our private sector partners, we’ve not only delivered homes, but we’ve also provided stability and restored dignity for hundreds of Lagosians.”
Diverse Housing for Diverse Needs
The Greater Lagos Apartments comprise a total of 378 modern housing units, offering a mix of one, two, and three-bedroom flats tailored to meet varying family sizes and income levels. On the other hand, the Crown Exquisite Homes consist of 64 premium four-bedroom maisonettes, ideal for larger households and those seeking more spacious living arrangements.
“These are different homes for different needs because we understand that one size doesn’t fit all,” the governor noted, underscoring his administration’s inclusive approach to housing provision.
A Testament to Strategic Partnerships
Governor Sanwo-Olu extended gratitude to Megamound Investment Limited and Crown Exquisite Homes & Property Limited for their professionalism, dedication, and commitment to quality throughout the execution of the projects. “These projects were made possible because of our partners, and I thank both teams for delivering according to the vision and standards we set.”
More Housing Projects in the Pipeline
Governor Sanwo-Olu assured Lagosians that the state government is not resting on its laurels. He disclosed that more LBIC-led housing projects are already underway, with a focus on functionality, affordability, and durability. According to him, these upcoming developments will further close the housing gap in Lagos and cater to the housing needs of both the middle and low-income earners.
“LBIC has more projects on the way,” he said. “All designed to be functional, affordable, and built to last. We remain committed to closing the housing gap in Lagos, one step at a time.”
A Vision for the Future
Governor Sanwo-Olu reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to the Greater Lagos agenda — a blueprint aimed at transforming Lagos into a 21st-century economy through improved infrastructure, inclusive governance, and sustainable development.
“Let’s keep building together for a Greater Lagos, and for generations to come,” he concluded, calling on stakeholders to remain supportive and engaged as the state charts a progressive course in urban development and housing reform.
