...Grand Commissioning of Ultra-Modern Secretariat Buildings and Empowerment Initiatives

In a landmark achievement aimed at repositioning local governance infrastructure, the Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Engr. Dr. Mojeed Alabi Balogun, has successfully completed a series of ultra-modern building projects under what is now being widely referred to as the Ikeja LG Legacy Projects.

The ambitious development initiative, which commenced in 2023, reflects Engr. Balogun’s visionary leadership and dedication to transforming the face of local administration in Lagos State’s capital. The centerpiece of these projects includes:

A brand-new ultra-modern Administrative Office Complex – designed to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency within the council.

A state-of-the-art Legislative Building – constructed to provide a conducive working environment for councillors and legislative proceedings.

A fully renovated Ikeja House – symbolizing the preservation of historical structures with a modern touch.

Other strategic infrastructural upgrades within the council secretariat – further affirming the commitment to urban development and responsive governance.

These projects are not only poised to enhance staff productivity and public service delivery but also to provide a befitting legacy for future administrations.

To mark the completion of these legacy projects, the council has announced a week-long commissioning celebration, which will feature a range of activities including building tours, public lectures, cultural performances, and stakeholder engagements.

In addition, Engr. Mojeed Balogun will also be hosting a mega empowerment programme targeted at supporting residents of Ikeja with various tools, grants, and resources aimed at improving livelihoods and promoting economic growth within the community.

Speaking ahead of the grand commissioning, Engr. Balogun noted that the legacy projects represent his administration’s unwavering commitment to the principles of excellence, development, and people-oriented governance.

“These projects are a testament to our resolve to build a modern, efficient and responsive local government that prioritizes the needs of its people. We are setting a new standard for local administration, and I believe this is just the beginning,” he said.

The Ikeja LG Legacy Projects stand as a bold statement of what is possible through strategic planning, community-focused leadership, and effective execution.
