Governor, Family, and Lagosians Felicitate Oba Elegushi at 15th Coronation Milestone.

The Governor of Lagos State, on behalf of his wife, Dr. (Mrs.) Ibijoke, his family, the government, and the good people of Lagos State, has extended heartfelt congratulations to His Royal Majesty, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi, Kusenla III, the Elegushi of Ikate-Elegushi Kingdom, on the momentous occasion of his 15th coronation anniversary.

In his congratulatory message, the Governor described Oba Elegushi as a visionary and dynamic traditional ruler whose reign has been marked by outstanding dedication to community service, leadership excellence, and a tireless passion for the development of his people.

According to the Governor, Oba Elegushi’s journey on the throne, which began 15 years ago, has been a shining example of modern traditional leadership. He noted that the monarch has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to uplifting the Ikate-Elegushi Kingdom through numerous initiatives aimed at social, economic, and infrastructural development.

“Since ascending the revered throne of his forefathers, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi has distinguished himself as a selfless, devoted, and passionate leader, who has remained steadfast in promoting unity, peace, and progress within his domain. His contributions to the socio-economic advancement of Lagos State, particularly through his active role as a member of the Lagos State Council of Obas and Chiefs, are commendable,” the Governor stated.

Highlighting the significance of traditional institutions in the contemporary governance structure, the Governor acknowledged the pivotal role played by Oba Elegushi and other traditional rulers in mobilising community support for government policies, bridging the gap between the government and grassroots communities, and preserving cultural heritage.

“Oba Elegushi’s leadership has not only enhanced the Ikate-Elegushi Kingdom but has also positively impacted the wider Lagos community. His wisdom, energy, and foresight have been instrumental in fostering collaboration between traditional institutions and the government for the collective good of the people,” he added.

As the monarch celebrates 15 illustrious years on the throne, the Governor prayed for continued divine guidance for Oba Elegushi. He wished the royal father good health, greater wisdom, and enduring strength to continue steering the affairs of Ikate-Elegushi towards greater peace, unity, and prosperity.

“May His Royal Majesty’s reign continue to be blessed with peace, progress, and unprecedented achievements,” the Governor concluded.

The 15th coronation anniversary of Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi marks not just a celebration of his reign but also a reflection of the transformational impact of his leadership on his people and the Lagos State traditional institution at large.
